About Me
During high school, I played golf (admittedly most scores were far above par) and basketball (I was blessed to earn the recognition of the Associated Press when named 2A all-state). When I was not studying or working on free throws, I was typically spending time with friends and family. After years of work, and with lots of help from family and teachers, I was named Valedictorian of my high school class.
Afterwards, I was able to earn educational scholarships to Lincoln Land Community College and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I obtained bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, with a major in Political Science and a minor in Literature. After the completion of my undergraduate education, it was finally time to attend law school.
I decided to attend St. Louis University School of Law to become an attorney. In law school, I focused on torts (acts or failures to act that cause a claimant to suffer loss or harm, resulting in legal liability for the person who commits or fails to commit a certain act). After my first two years of law school, professorial staff requested I become a teaching assistant for first year tort courses and participate in the trial advocacy curriculum. Those experiences prepared me for what I do now, advocate on behalf of my clients to the best of my ability.
In my short tenure as a licensed attorney, I have taken innumerable depositions, argued dispositive motions, obtained favorable settlements, and served as trial counsel for my clients. I focus my practice on civil litigation, including auto accident, products liability, and nursing home abuse cases. For my first job out of law school, I defended Fortune 500 corporations and large insurance companies. After learning their tricks, I decided it was time to fight those same big companies on behalf of ordinary, everyday Americans.
As the first lawyer in my extended family, I understand the necessity of clarifying complicated issues while communicating important matters with my clients. My legal education, life experience, and integrity drive me to be the best counselor I can be.
